Have you found your Why? Personally? Or as a group?
If you read the book “Find your why” (2017) I may be able to support you…read on.
This book is a practical guide that follows-on from Simon Sinek’s first book “Start with Why” from 2009. It outlines two approaches to find your “why”; for an individual or a group of people, e.g. you personally, a department, workstream or company.
My biggest takeaway from this book is that you need someone who does not know you very well to provide the best independent view to support finding your „why“. This support person should be completely unbiased, supportive and an excellent listener!
The process is quite easy and maybe a touch emotional, but in a good way; if done properly. It is not a psychoanalysis; just a simple gathering of personal stories that mean something in your life or to the team. The result should be a meaningful personal statement – your “why”, the raison D’etre or, the Ikigai in Japanese.
Do you need an independent partner to go through the process? Contact me if you would like to explore this.
